CLOTH PAPER SCISSORS

Good evening, everyone! Just wanted to tell you that the March/April issue of CLOTH PAPER SCISSORS is on the shelves tomorrow. The article that Lesley Riley wrote as she interviewed me is wonderful, and they have published several of my collages, as well. Do check it out!!!

Here is a glimpse into the poster I've been working on all weekend. I'm hoping that the article, plus seeing some of my work, will encourage more people to delve into this area.

Thank you, Lesley -- for the opportunity for others to see my art -- and for the chance to share a small glimpse into my artistic world. I'm hoping this helps make artists collectors and collectors artists!!!

Oh, and this June I will make a journey to England to observe, photograph, experience, and just make art and write about it. I will be keeping a journal and sharing it here.

Lynda

in the March/April issue of cloth/paper/scissors you describe your process of changing scanned images in photoshop elements, the "cut" command, and "select similar". I cannot find either of these commands on my photoshop elements. Could you please explain?
I would like to try this.
thanks, dottyT

Dotty, I should have said the "magic wand" tool. Use that for first highlighting a section that you want to delete. Next, go to the "select" menu and choose "similar". That will allow you to highlight all the sections that are the color you wish to cut or delete. Now press "cut" or, on the Mac, Command/X, and the section you don't want should go away! Let me know if that works!

Hi Lynda;
I found your article so interesting and inspirational. I work with fabric
and have no formal training, but love what I do. However have been doing a little with digital pictures and am
leaning toward using paper. Easier on my old back!! My daughter has offered
to gift me with photoshop elements, I
will see as I am pretty computer illiterate. Love your work.

Lynda, I so enjoyed the article in Cloth Paper Scissors. It came at just the right time for me as I am learning the digital process you describe in your article. I just finished taking a digital scrapbooking class and next week start a beginner photoshop elements class through the local technical class. I am just beginning to experiment with using emphera I have collected over the years - antique photos, antique/vintage post cards... you name it. It is so fun and the possibilities seem endless. I just need to get more comfortable with the software. Your article was very encouraging.

Lynda,
Great article on digital collages. I tried to follow the link to Leslie...for her CDs but it is non-existant. Any way to catch up with her? Thanks! Melissa
